Temporary
46,000 - 52,000 € per year

Want to make a difference?

As an Innovation & Circularity Manager (all genders), you drive material innovation and circular strategies that directly contribute to our impact goals. The focus is on reducing the environmental footprint of our products through next-generation materials, circular design principles, and scalable systems that enable measurable carbon and resource reductions. Acting as the bridge between Product, Supply Chain, Marketing, and external partners, you translate our sustainability ambitions into tangible results and help redefine fashion and decouple business growth from environmental impact.

Who we are...

Since 2007, ARMEDANGELS has been challenging the fashion industry's status quo. Founded in Cologne, the brand creates contemporary collections with a focus on material innovation, intentional design and transparency, while continuously working to improve its impact on people and the environment. Publishing its progress annually through its Impact Report, ARMEDANGELS has grown from an initiative selling T-shirts to support social projects into one of Europe's leading fashion brands in this space. Today, with a team of more than 200 employees and four collections a year, the brand continues to explore new possibilities for fashion through innovation, collaboration and long-term thinking.

What is the job about?

  • You develop and implement a material innovation strategy that contributes to our carbon reduction and next-gen fiber targets – from scouting and evaluating new material technologies to managing innovation pilot projects (concept, testing, validation, launch) in close collaboration with Product, Supply Chain, and external innovators.
  • You drive the implementation of our Design Principles for Circularity across all product categories and track progress against our circularity KPIs as part of the Impact* Roadmap.
  • You ensure data quality and consistency across innovation and material databases, feed material impact data into our LCA platform (e.g., Carbonfact), and evaluate new initiatives based on lifecycle metrics and environmental performance.
  • You work closely with Marketing, E-Com, and Retail to communicate material innovations credibly, train internal teams on sustainability topics, and ensure that product storytelling and impact data are aligned.
  • You represent ARMEDANGELS externally at panels, forums, and cross-industry initiatives, strengthening our positioning.

We'd love to hear from you if you have

  • You have a completed degree in Sustainability, Material Science, Textile Engineering, Circular Economy, or a comparable field (Master's preferred).
  • You bring 3–5+ years of experience in sustainability, impact innovation, or materials strategy in the fashion industry.
  • You have a deep understanding of preferred and next-gen materials and their life cycles.
  • You bring proven experience in project management, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • You're a strong communicator in English and ideally also in German, with a focus on clear, consistent execution.

What can you expect?

  • Inspiring work environment: Work at an innovative company that operates as sustainably as possible and constantly sets new standards.
  • Flexibility: Trust-based working hours and the option to work hybrid.
  • Team spirit: Look forward to fantastic parties with great colleagues, an office with a lot of history, and a love for dogs (who are warmly welcome in the office).
  • Benefits: Shopping vouchers at ARMEDANGELS, great employee discounts, a company bike or Deutschlandticket, as well as a company pension scheme.
  • Support: Our Employee Assistance Program is there for you, independent of your employer, in any life situation.
  • Come as you are: No dress code – just come as you are (clothing is of course still required!).

About us

Since 2007, the Cologne-based label ARMEDANGELS has been proving that fashion can be different: innovative and timeless, produced according to responsible standards for people and the planet. No wage slavery, no harmful chemicals, no cheap mass-produced goods. From the simple idea of printing T-shirts and collecting donations for projects and organisations through sales, a company has grown that is now one of the largest sustainable lifestyle labels in Europe. With a 190-strong team and four collections a year, ARMEDANGELS shows that responsibility and good product design are not mutually exclusive.
